Long time no post - Update 28/02/2020

Hi!

Apologies for the lack of updates. I've kind of been busy with work related things. I'm setting myself up to be officially self-employed with a business plan. And a few other work-related tasks. But in the mean time, I've been thinking about how to progress with the game.

My original hopes were to release on Steam fairly soon, with just the single player mode of the game, with current art assets and menu design.

However, I've since decided that the Steam release should have a bit more work done to show. I want to release a good initial impression - something that will be able to build some momentum. A poorer first release may attract some negativity, which could hurt both the organic growth of the game, and my feelings :P

Things I want to do before Steam release:

  • Complete 5 single player stages with current art assets.
  • Implement new "Nuklear" menu system
  • Bring back multiplayer functionality - and hook up with menu system
  • New art assets - I'm not really an artist, but I'll give it a try
  • Complete another 5 stages with new art assets
  • Gamepad support

Also, there's a cool new game console coming out. It's the Pimoroni 32Blit. I've backed it on Kickstarter, and hopefully will receive one this year! And I plan to port some of Wizards with Rockets to it. It will be also available as a desktop game.

I think I'll have some free time in April-May - things should calm down by then, so I hope to spend about one day per week on it then.

Looking forward to killing you (in game) soon!

PS. Hopefully see attached the first 4 stages of the single player game.
